Answer: Introduction This is a study, which will analyze the impact of green supply chain management on the performance of an organization. The organizations that resource dependent or the organizations having a supply chain that are prone to environmental damage are adopting green strategies to create a sustainable corresponding environment. Background and problem definition The organizations that have supply chain management consist of upstream and downstream activities. These upstream and downstream activities often have an impact on the corresponding environment and the society. Thus, green measures are necessary to maintain the sustainability of the environment. Moreover, the organizations that are dependent on resources will have to manage their resources in a better way in order to maintain their long-term sustainability in the market (Zhu, Sarkis and Lai 2013). Thus, the majority of the organizations are facing issue in incorporating these factors in to the organization. Thus, the study will identify the issues and measures that can be taken by the organizations for contributing positively to the environment and the society. Literature review It is crucial to maintain a balance between the environmental and economic performance of the organization. However, it has been seen that the organization having a good brand image due to their social and environmental have been able to improve their profit margin (Yang et al. 2013). Thus, more and more organizations are adding bottom lines in to the main bottom line of the organization so that they can assess their environmental and social impact.
