Background and problem definition The organizations that have supply chain management consist of upstream and downstream activities. These upstream and downstream activities often have an impact on the corresponding environment and the society. Thus, green measures are necessary to maintain the sustainability of the environment. Moreover, the organizations that are dependent on resources will have to manage their resources in a better way in order to maintain their long-term sustainability in the market (Zhu, Sarkis and Lai 2013). Thus, the majority of the organizations are facing issue in incorporating these factors in to the organization. Thus, the study will identify the issues and measures that can be taken by the organizations for contributing positively to the environment and the society.
